Came out to call for a customer concern about the system not heating properly. Customer stated that it was getting warm in the home, so he turned the thermostat to off and forgot to turn it back on during the night. It got to 68 degrees in the home and the wife turned the heat back on but noticed zone 2 temperature readings were blank, so she thought it wasn’t working/reading temperature. It also didn’t seem like the home was heating up, so she wanted it checked out. The surge protector was also out and they wanted it replaced. Thermostat was reading correct temperature when I checked it. Husband stated he had turned the zone setting to all, which means that the system operates all zones off the main thermostat temperature. This setting is what was causing the thermostat to read blank for zone 2. Checked system over and found no issues with how system was operating. Replaced the surge protector and rechecked operation. Unit reached thermostat set point of 73 before I left.
