Performed annual maintenance on the Ruud oil furnace. Replaced the nozzle, oil filter, and pump strainer. Brushed and vacuumed the heat exchanger and flue pipe. Tested and verified proper operation of all system safeties and burner components. Inspected, tested, and cleaned the blower motor. Completed combustion, smoke, and draft tests. Tom noted a discrepancy between the thermostat reading and the actual room temperature. Upon inspection, the thermostat was found to be located directly above an air-purifying unit. For accurate temperature sensing and proper system communication, I recommend relocating the air purifier to prevent interference with the thermostat. System is operating properly at this time.
