Called out today due to no cooling. Upon arrival client stated that the air handler runs but the condenser does not. Checked all electronics and motor components to ensure proper operation. Found disconnect loose at the condenser. Restored power and tested system. Took amp draws. Tested refrigerant pressures. Capacitor is low. Measured the temperature drop across the coil. Evaporator coil is heavily corroded. Although the system runs.. it is in poor shape. Clients just moved in and plan on living here for the next 5-10 years. I recommended system replacement due to the age and condition of the machine. Client would like a comfort advisor out from 4-6 on Monday. Went over pricing, financing and the length of time for the visit. System is cooling at this time… but due to the age and condition of this machine, it can and will fail at anytime. Enrolled clients into preventative maintenance plan and waived trip charge. Thank you for always choosing Total Air!
