Was informed that last night it didn’t seem like the heat pump was keeping up. System was switched over to emergency heat, which kept the house warm overnight. Started heat pump checked amps on condenser fan motor and compressor. Both were drawing in normal ranges. Tested defrost no issues with defrost 30° outside temperature clamp on suction line while heat pump was running was at 128°. This is normal for the section line to be that temperature was outdoor temperature being 30°. Compressor does make noise that goes away on start up and I don’t see any high amp draw when that noise occurs. Tested zones from thermostat. All zone dampers are opening and closing the way they should. No noise coming from any of them. It’s a possibility that there’s an issue with the zone board that we didn’t see today. If it happens again, go outside and look to see if the outdoor unit is on and make sure your thermostat says heat is on before you call us.
