Arrived on site for no heat. Customer was having issue operations the thermostat. She stated that thermostat would need to be set again and again after going to sleep. Performed check over entirety of system and found no issues that would cause system to not run as intended. Noticed very large blanket of dust and debris on outside condenser coil. This will cause undue stress on the system and lead it into an early grave If it is allowed to continue like this. Provided options for getting this issue addressed including chemically cleaning indoor and outdoor coils, and blower wheel as well as a duct cleaning. This will improve air quality inside and prolong life of system. I also noticed there was no float switch on the indoor unit. This can cause water to come through the ceiling if the primary drain line is blocked. Discussed thermostat programming and how to set a manual hold with the homeowner. Unit in good working order upon departure.
