- Installation of a GFCI into a pre-existing handyman box - Removing the old hard wired whip and installing the customer supplied plug in whip Reason for today’s visit with the customer was installation of a GFCI inside the cabinet below the sink and to install customer supplied whip for the older dishwasher. Upon arrival I began the work and installed a GFCI inside the pre-existing handyman box. I then installed the new whip and decommissioned the old 12 wire it was connected to before. Work was completed and the dishwasher operated as intended. I then began writing my quotes for the panel and subpanel. Customer complained of the 60 amp main tripping inside the panel when the space heater and treadmill were running inside the garage. I believe the 20 amp breaker these are run off is failing and is not tripping properly causing the 60 amp main to overheat. Issue could not be replicated while I was on-site.
