Customer originally called us out to install a customer supplied car charger in the garage. When i inspected the area i saw there was a 240 volt 50 amp receptacle where the customer wanted the car charger. After taking it apart i found the wire could be used for the car charger. When I open up the electrical panel i noticed there were double tapped neutrals which i brought to the customers attention. He then decided to install the car charger and fix the panel. I removed the receptacle and the box inside the wall and then i pushed the wires closer to the panel from inside the wall. I brought the wires out of the wall and then installed the car charger. I then installed a blank plate over the hole where the box use to be. I then removed the 50 amp breaker and installed a 2 pole 60 amp homeline electrical breaker. I then removed all double tapped neutrals and separated them so they were on their own screws to meet code requirements also to prevent the neutrals from overheating in t

Checked issue with a chirping breaker for the living room circuit. After evaluating the issue at hand, it is determined that the issue and question lies with in one of the plugged in devices. There’s also an overloading issue when the space heater is in use.

Today’s visit stemmed from the prior trip out. We had originally given quotes for lighting, the customer did not have fixtures on site however. Today, several of the fixtures had arrived. We installed the 2 kitchen pendant lights and the 3rd floor stairwell fixture. Lastly we installed the new homeline surge protector in the panel. Customer is still waiting on the third and final pendant light for kitchen and first floor foyer area fixture. Customer to schedule when materials arrive.

Customers having issues with the front receptacle, constantly tripping and turning off the GFCI underneath the panel in the basement. Provided a solution to replace the front receptacle with a GFCI so that it will no longer trip and turn off the basement GFCI. To remedy this I will also have to replace the garage receptacle with a GFCI as it is on the same line. Also noticed that customer had attempted to replace the smoke in the basement due to the size of the new units. The wires need to be cleaned up in the box so that the smoke detector can properly lock into place. Customer also would like to have the primary bedroom closet light replaced so that it will put off more light. We provide solutions to install new motion floodlights on the sides of the home. On the right side, we will need to pipe up the side of the home near the gutter as the closest place to get power from is the panel. The other side of the home, we will cut across the garage ceiling and stub out the side and instal

Customer called us out to have a breaker swapped out because of its improperly sized for new oven unit. Upon arriving I let the customer know that we may need to run a bigger wire but after checking the panel it was the right size wire to support the needed amperage. I started the inspection of the home and noticed that multiwire feeds were in the panel and no surge protection was installed. I continued to check the grounding and everything seemed to be properly grounded. After that I went through and checked the gfci and switches to make sure that everything was working properly and it was, however I noticed the smoke detectors were extremely out of date. I’m recommended we replace smoke detectors throughout the home and install surge protection to protect to stove along with swapping the old breaker to the new to support new oven. We just decided to do the breaker swap today. Also quoted recess lights in the office

Customer called us out because corrections needed to be made for the inspection report. Upon arriving the homeowner informed me that there was shared neutrals in the electrical panel so after removing the cover, I found the shared neutrals mentioned by the inspector and improperly label wires on breakers. Moving forward the inspector also mentioned a receptacle in the kitchen needing a GFCI type receptacle, this however is not the case because the receptacle in question was protected by another GFCI type receptacle in the kitchen. After going over everything in the inspection report i continued with my own inspection of the home and found that all the grounding and bonding was up to date and receptacles were not Stab-wired connections(good). The only issues that arose were the main smoke detector in the hall was out of date and yellowish and the garage receptacle was not GFCI protected. Today we took care of the shared neutrals in the panel found on the original inspection and my recom
