The reason for today visit was to provide a solution on a customer buying a home with aluminum wiring and remediating it. When we arrived we saw a 100 amp Square D QO panel with many signs of concern. We saw double tapped neutrals, shared neutral circuits, over sized breaker for the AC and missing grounding. Home is currently set up on well water. We also saw during our inspection that there were missing GFCI protection through out the home. We saw the outlets and switches were mainly aluminum wired directly to copper which can cause overheating and power loss. We provided a solution today on changing all the devices in the alongside replacement of the main 100 amp panel to the 200 amp updated system. Today after speaking with the potential buyer, she explained she would be considered closing on the home around the new year and at this time no work has been scheduled. If she decides to move forward when closing she will then call us back out to begin work.
