Upon arrival, I investigated the odor the customer is experiencing. I found that the evaporator coil is emitting the associated smell. I spoke with the homeowner about routes to addressing this issue. I offered the air scrubber, u/v light, evaporator cleaning, and adding supply and returns to the attic. I performed the maintenance at this time, too. I noticed that compressor is not protected with a surge protector. Customer confirmed that they have power outages at times. The compressor is starting with higher than recommended amps. 108/109. I offered a surge protector. Customer decided he only wanted estimates for surge protector, hard start, and the evaporator cleaning. The supply plenum is experiencing rust on the outside of it. With the home being spray foamed, it is advised to install supply and return grill in the attic to allow the humidity to removed.
