I performed a 2 system heating maintenance on gas systems. Zoned communicating Amana- furnace 2020 - condenser 2024 Trane - Furnace 2020 - condenser 2016 I checked amps, capacitors, filters, electrical, cleanliness, temperature split, and safeties. Systems are heating inside of manufacture specifications. Customer mentioned some uneven cooling/heating in areas of the home. I investigated into the matter. I found the source of the issue. There is a single duct that splits 3 ways to the rooms in question. To properly address this issue, we would need to redesign to ducting system. I observed that the filters don’t fully seal in the filter cabinet. This causes dust to bypass into the system and making components dirty and strain. I advise that the filter cabinet be upgraded to allow a filter that will perfectly fit. The units do not have surge protection and risk damage if power fluctuates.
