Same day service! I was afraid it would be 2 or 3 days before somebody could come look at the air conditioning system.

We were told there was a Freon leak and coil needed to be replaced, and a system overhaul was recommended. The estimate was more than the purchase of a new system though parts were still under warranty. We called in a second opinion same day. The leak was found outside. A fitting had been loosely screwed together, causing the leak. The leak detector immediately identified it. The coil was very carefully checked for leaks and none found. I guess Centex did not want to serve us in the future. Maybe because we’re 30 miles away?
Response from Centex Air & Heat:
Mr. King, as you're aware not all companies are created equal. We've been in business for 40 years and only employ the best techs and ensure that they are highly trained. We stand by our diagnosis and respectfully disagree with our competitor's opinion. You do have a leak on the indoor portion of your system and it will remain an issue that needs to be resolved. I went ahead and sent you the video that my tech took of his leak detector detecting the leak. I encourage you to show that to this other company and have them explain it.

When I arrived I found that the indoor air circulation system was faulted. I spoke with the client about his options repair vs replacement. I went over the options for repair and he wanted me to give him some options for replacement also. The client will let us know what he wants to do after he speaks with his wife.
Upon my arrival I completed the warranty repair on the blower housing for system number 1. After completing the repair I tested the system and verified it was operating to manufacture specifications. I then pulled the return air grill from the kitchen area and chemically washed the grease off outside. Reinstalled the return air grill and secured duct back to it.
Upon my arrival, I spoke with customer about their concerns with the system, not cooling well. Performing my diagnostics. I found that the voltage enhancement system had failed, causing the outdoor compressor to not come on for normal operation. I spoke with the customer about my concerns and went over repair options. they approved to have the system repaired today. I performed the approved repairs then wash the condenser coil due to it being dirty so I can get an accurate read on pressure. Found the system is operating properly at this time. It will take a while for the temperature to come down in the home given it was 94° in the home. Customers are going to let the warranty run out on the home and then consider joining the maintenance program.
Arrived to site and replaced improperly installed water removal system. Put vent after the P trap. Added a union for easy clean out in the future. Glued all connections and insulated whole line with armaflex and tape. Tested water safety switches and chemically treated new water removal system line with pan treatment spray. Washed down condenser with water. Was very dirty on the back side with yard clipping. Tested system in cooling, system operating and draining to manufactures specifications at this time.
Customer was concerned about RTU #3 not coming on and cooling. Got on roof and began to diagnose the system. Refrigerant circulating pump would come on, but not the air movement system. Voltage distribution system for air movement system not receiving 24 volts to pull in and distribute voltage. Traced issue back to the air movement system relay. Relay was faulted. Replaced relay and air movement system came on with the refrigerant circulating pump. Checked pressures in cool and found that the refrigerant pressure control system was not operating as it should giving us faulty pressures. System is cooling, but not to manufactures specifications. Informed customer of our findings, and will be getting with supply house on Monday to check availability and price of a new refrigerant pressure control system. Heat transfer media coil needs to be chemically cleaned as well as the drain pan underneath. Will update customer next week on a repair time. System cooling to the best of its ability at
Arrived on location to swap out faulty blower motor shaft and pulley for RTU #2. After pulling blower motor assembly we were unable to get the Allen key shaft locking screws off. Broke 5 different Allen key the process of trying to get it loose. Could not use heat due to the rubber bearing outside shaft. Will return with hardened steel bits that will not break. Replaced remote sensor for unit number 8.
Upon my arrival I spoke with the customer about their concerns with the system not cooling. Performing my diagnostics I found that the voltage enhancement system has failed causing the outdoor unit to not operate. I spoke with the customer about their different options for repair and they chose to go with HN14E. I performed the approved repair installing a new voltage enhancement system, new voltage distribution system, added performance enhancement system, added DTK power protection, redid wire terminals, cleared leaves from inside the condenser, chemically washed the condenser coil then ran a performance and safety testing. System is operating within manufacture specifications at this time. Customer joined the maintenance program as well.
Upon my arrival in La Grange I did AC Maintenance. the air movement system was cycling on and off. When I checked the voltage coming from the relay control it was opening and closing causing the issue. This is going to be the main cause of the system freezing over. With the customers approval I replaced the relay control and redid the wire terminals on it. I then tested the system and found that everything is operating properly at this time.
Arrived in La Grange for AC Repair, Upon my arrival I evaluated two mini split systems and one furnace straight, cool split system. I verified system safety and performance is to manufacture specifications. Flushed and treated the water removal system. Cleaned the electrical cabinet and washed unit using water. Found that the furnace split straight cool system was low on refrigerant. I performed a leak check with my electronic leak detector and found multiple signs of refrigerant leaks at the indoor unit. My recommendation was for scheduling an appointment with the comfort advisor regarding potential repairs.
Arrived in La Grange for AC Maintenance, Upon my arrival I performed a diagnostics on RTU#7 finding that the low voltage wire on one of the relays was loose causing low voltage to not reach the indoor air movement system. I pulled the spade connector off and crimped it to allow for a tight connection on the relay. Testing the system I found that everything else is operating properly at this time.
Arrived in La Grange for AC Maintenance, Upon our arrival we spoke with the customer about their concerns with the system shutting down. Performing our diagnostics we found that the system is a negative pressure system and was not equipped with a vent after the ptrap as well as the water removal system was backed up. We spoke with the customer about our concerns, went over repair options and maintenance program. Customer approved HF3A and the maintenance today. We cleared the water removal system, installed a vent pipe and checked the system performance. Found everything operating properly at this time.
Upon arrival in La Grange, Mini split outdoor unit non-operational. Found bad inverter board due to voltage surge. Replaced board and tested compressor start-up sequence. System now cooling effectively across all zones.
Upon arrival in La Grange, Swapped aging unit with high-efficiency model. Installed new thermostat, sealed duct transitions, and tested airflow. Verified TXV function and checked for proper defrost operation. System now meets ENERGY STAR standards.
Upon arrival in La Grange, System not cooling due to low refrigerant. Found leaking Schrader valve. Replaced valve core, pressure-tested, vacuumed, and recharged to spec. Verified cooling operation and recorded a 21°F temperature differential.
Upon arrival in La Grange, Seasonal cooling maintenance included pressure readings, capacitor testing, and evaporator coil inspection. No major issues found. Static pressure slightly high—recommended ductwork inspection to reduce strain on blower motor.
