Luis was very professional and took the time to answer my many questions and show me how to do certain maintenance tasks.
Upon arrival system was cooling. It was 74 degrees inside the home. I inspected unit and checked delta T. i was getting 20 degree differential. I checked filter and it was completely impacted. I told customer they cannot put that filter back inside it will restrict the coil and give them issues. I checked pressures and they are looking good. Only thing I came across was a the dirty filter. Sent the customer email invoice to pay thru email
Customers had us out today to give a bid on their AC system. System was about 12 years old functioning well. System was a comfort maker 14 seer heat pump 5 kW heat strips. Customers travel to New Jersey over the summertime and our trying to make sure they don’t run into an issue with their new system.
Customer had us out today to assess building a new return Plenum for his package unit. That’s on the roof of his apartment building. Upon investigation, Troy found that the package unit was not in the greatest shape and could use replacing. However, it is working currently and he does not run the temperature very low. The split temperature is suffering a little bit, but it’s due to the coil probably being not very clean as his filter is compromised. Gave customer an estimate on full system replacement and replacing the Plenum and a Band-Aid solution to just fix the Plenum.
Customer gave Rodney (tech Onsite) verbal approval on estimate
Customer called us out for a estimate on a new duct run
Customer had us back out because compressor was no longer turning on after we perform maintenance. Upon investigation, Troy discovered the wiring issue and corrected it.
Upon arrival unit was running as normal When checking out unit I suggest to change capacitor because it was under amping Customer was concerned with build up suggested doing a uv light in package unit Unit was draining and running properly fine when we left pictures of amp reading will be in photos
Replacement of inverter board, pullout switch and surge protector
Customer called us out because the system was not blowing any hot air. Upon investigation, Troy found that the compressor was not coming online. After tracing power found that the pullout switch was working power and wasn’t functioning properly. Got the compressor to turn on after fiddling with the pullout switch. And the LED lights on the inverter board were not displaying and the compressor was not coming on, but the fan was turning. This indicated as short in the inverter board and needs replacement also recommended replacing the pull-up and adding a surge protector to the pullout to prevent any further damage from happening in the future.
Customer had us out so that we could evaluate her system after a lot of water was leaking out of it. Upon investigation, Troy found that the back piece of the insulation was blowing into her blower wheel, causing a restriction in the airflow, which is leading to a subs which intern gave her all of the water all over her floor. Upon further investigation tray found the system was very old, and when he put his gauges on that condenser, they were reading very very low at the edge of the system replacing the coil seems less cost-effective than just replacing the system. The customer agreed and we came to terms on a new, two.5 ton Trane street pool which agave have to deposit for and looking to schedule this upcoming week.
Upon arrival found that the indoor blower motor was causing a very disturbing rumbling sound After investigating the issue, i found that the motor is skipping while running and not running as it should Recommended replacement of blower motor and surge protection since the potential issue was power surges and its an electronically controlled motor
Customer needs a new 30 amp breaker for the air handler. The breaker is specific so it needs to be sourced from a distributor because Home Depot doesn’t carry that kind of breaker.
Customers condensate line for his mini split was clogged. Customer called a cell to unclog it.
