Performed maintenance on two package units. One was 21 years old and the other was only a few years old. The older unit has a contactor that needs to be replaced and I recommend adding a in rush device because the starting amps were very high. Also, unit did not have a drain clean out or safety switch. The other unit they said was about three years old. However, the label was gone and I had no information. The capacitor really needs to be replaced because it’s gonna be bad very soon. The homeowner said they have a lot of dust in the home, I went in the attic to look at their ductwork, but they have two main trunks that come down and goes to hard duck work. The insulation was not in the best condition, and I told them that would be beneficial to address, especially if they decide to replace that unit.
