Eric came and got the job done and cleaned up after themselves. We are pleased with the service. Thanks, Nellie Varvel and Clarence Varvel
Chris Martinez put 110 percent effort into figuring out my intermittent heat pump problem and fixing it as cost-effectively as possible. He was terrific! On another note, I really appreciate Ideal's constant communication about appointments and technician arrival times. Thank you for valuing my time, Ideal.
Matthew was ontime, tidy, personable, and thorough. we've been consistently pleased with Ideal's service through the years.
The team was great and finished in 1 day instead of 2 as scheduled.
A couple of months ago Ideal replaced my insulation, and air sealed my attic. Yesterday they were back to install an ERV (Energy Recovery Ventilation) system. Everything Idea does is best in class. They went above and beyond to help me get the HOA Architectural Request approved, quickly scheduled the installation once the project was approved, and everyone on the work crew was absolutely delightful. Big recommend for Ideal from me.
Ideal is, well, idea. Seriously. The response to my original RFQ was fast, as was scheduling. The technician was right on time and really cool about explaining everything to me so I understood my options (he provided Good, Better, Best). All around great experience. Highly recommend.
Basic Refrigerant Leak Search Complete a visual inspection of system to check for signs of oil around common leak points This does not include nitrogen pressure test, this is only for a basic leak test using bubbles Non Members: 90 day parts + labor warranty on all repairs Cool home members: 2 year parts + labor warranty on all repairs Unit needs a new outdoor coil.
Arrived to home Checked system Found system with a 1 degree temp split -amps at 4 -refrigerant bled out -valves damaged in compressor -17 yo -Due to age and deterioration recommend replacement -Repairs quoted could increase by up to $4200 depending on location of leak
Arrived to home Checked condenser No 240V to CU Fuses good Checked for ground Found compressor grounded Terminal wires damaged by rodent
Arrived to home Checked thermostat - good Checked condenser Found condenser at hard lock out Dual capacitor bad Windings on compressor damaged Performed repairs Dual capacitor Amrad Easy start inrush kit Membership **condenser motor may still fail - running good at this time
I inspected our equipment and verified good seal around unit. I found shingles near equipment to be damaged closer to location of interior leak
Replaced soft inrush kit under warranty. Unit is cooling at departure.
Mini split was found icing up again. Coils and filters are clean. Checked pressures and appeared to be low. Added charge to specs. Homeowners are aware that system might have possible leak. They will monitor system and will reach out if issue persist or worsens. Unit is cooling at its best capacity at time of departure.
Condensation P-trap & drain vent installation Install new PVC P-trap with vent T Connect to existing drain line or if package unit run new PVC off roof Includes clearing of drain line and testing to ensure water drains outside properly Ensure drain line has proper pitch of 1/4" of fall per foot
DESCRIPTION Reset Electrical Device & Verify Operation Reset breaker, thermostat or other electrical device Verify system operation and determine root cause of issue If intermittent issue collect data on possible causes and document Non Members: 90 day parts + labor warranty on all repairs Cool home members: 2 year parts + labor warranty on all repairs No cool call. Home warranty company has been out multiple times starting in the month of June/july and have not figured out the issue. Upon arrival the breaker to the air handler was off and door panel was off. At initial start came across the blower motor that has been recently replaced running backwards. I have switched the leads according to the wiring diagram to have the motor spin in a counter clockwise direction. After fixing the initial issue on todays visit I let system run for about 20-40 minutes to monitor refrigerant levels. System is outputting a 17-18 degree split. A healthy split is considered to be between 18-22 degrees.
Arrived to home Checked condenser Found dual cap reading nano farads Checked compressor windings Fluctuating on start and run Cooled compressor Windings too close in readings (damaged) Imminent failure Easy start Dual capacitor Membership
I found system operating with high static pressure pulling condensation off indoor coils outdoor coils. I inspected return air ductwork and adjusted fan speed. I also verified system level and condensation drain. System is now operating within system static rating. Would recommend using a lesser pleat filter to further lower static pressure on return side.
I found outdoor 80/7.5 mfd capacitor had failed. I replaced with a turbo 200x 80/7.5 and tested equipment is operating at this time. Would recommend having equipment maintenanced to ensure continued operations.
I adjusted minimum run times from 15 to 20 minutes. I adjusted temp differential for 2nd stage from 3 deg to 5deg. I lowered fan speed to the 48k setting and tested equipment. System return humidity dropped from 58%to 46% in 1 hour. System will need more operation time to achieve lower humidity. Equipment is operating fine at this time.
I found outdoor disconnect had a rattle, I installed foam tape to boarder to alleviate that. I also found elbow was not sealed on install. I sealed elbow and verified no air leaks.
The upstairs unit was not blowing cool air and intermittently would not respond to the thermostat at all. I verified the thermostat is bad and replaced the thermostat. I checked on the roof and found the second floor unit had rotted thermostat wires. I replaced the section of wire. The upstairs unit was slightly undercharged, and I charged it back with a pound of Freon. The units operating properly at this time.
