found the thermostat wasn’t fully installed onto its base. The homeowner had reset the blown breaker. I checked the units operations and it is operating within running amps and the capacitors tested good. The outdoor fan motor case temperature tested OK. The unit is suffering from excessively high starting apms, causing it to trip breaker I recommended inrush kits for both units and maintenance plans to get both units serviced
Performed cooling inspection. While on site during inspection system developed a short do to a bad thermostat. Also took out the contactor. I replaced the thermostat with a customer supplied one and the contactor was covered by us so next warranty per Alex. Once all repairs were done the inspection was completed. The system is cooling upon departure. Performed a membership visit in heating. Observed the unit is experiencing excessively high starting amps. Recommend installing and in rush kit to alleviate the stress on the system. The unit unit is experiencing excessively high static pressure in the ductwork and recommend an energy audit.
