Performed a platinum cool home visit. I found the system is operating with high static pressures from a return duct that is too small for the system. I spoke with the homeowner and explained the situation and he’s apprised of the issue. The contactor was burnt and the thermostat leads are sun rotten from being exposed to sunlight. The homeowner wanted to install a smart thermostat, so I verified wiring and connected the C wire. I repaired the thermostat leads on the roof and replace the contactor. I installed an ecobee and verified operations.
