This system had high start amps and this will cut that amp draw in half. The other single stage unit has one already on it. Installed 2 surge protectors on xv condensers, I suggested putting them on the inside unit as well but homeowner didn’t think that was necessary so those are still unprotected but the drives are protected and that’s one of the biggest things we wanted to be safe.
