Removed the failed well tank and installed a new WX203 tank. During installation, a significant amount of sediment buildup was observed in the plumbing lines. After completing the tank installation, we installed a homeowner-supplied water filter and tested the system for proper operation. While testing, we noticed sediment quickly collecting in the kitchen sink line after removing the pull-down sprayer head. The homeowner also pointed out sediment buildup in the tub used for draining the system. When testing the tub, the Moen 1222 shower cartridge was found to be completely packed with sediment, allowing only a minimal trickle of water. The cartridge was removed, requiring drilling and breaking due to being seized in place. Once removed, the shower wall opening was stuffed with rags, and the water was turned on to flush sediment from the lines and valve, which resulted in filling the tub with sediment as the system was cleared.
