Kitchen Drain Line Repair: -A section of the kitchen drain line was replaced due to ongoing leaks and repeated clogging issues. The existing 2" ABS drain exhibited significant back-pitch and had been previously patched with PVC, which failed to bond correctly and resulted in additional leakage. -Approximately 20 feet of Sheetrock was removed to access the affected piping. All insulation within the repair area was removed and stored in the garage for reinstallation. Only one pipe hanger was found supporting this length of pipe, with the beam serving as the only additional structural support. -Twenty feet of ABS piping was cut out and removed. Sections of the line were found to be completely filled with standing water and food grease. -New blocking was installed every four feet to properly support the replacement pipe and ensure correct pitch. -The new line was tied into the existing pipe coming through the floor using a standard 90° fitting due to pitch limitations.
