A little pricey for what was done

I believe the price was a little too high for what the technician did

For this job we identified that the condenser fan motor failed. The system we added 6 lbs of R22 last week with the UV dye leak search indicator has been identified inside the evaporator coil and suction line port. The refrigerant repairs are credited back with replacement quote sent to Tony. If the condenser fan motor is replaced to get the system running will not solve the refrigerant leak that is not repairable since it is in the coils. They manufacturer doesn’t make the coils anymore due to the age and the type of phased out refrigerant R22.

REPIPE HOT WATER LINES After we re-pressurizing the system the Hot water lines are completely clogged. The shower and tub shower vales are also not operating. We are recommending a hot water repipe as well and the replacement of the shower valves in order to restore the flow of water. We also see a pressure loss on the hot side indicating there is another leak somewhere underground. Customer would like to add the hot water pipes to the existing claim so she can move back into the house and have functioning hot water. No additional holes will need to be made in the walls. We will use existing holes cut by the abatement company for the cold water lines. The process will take 3 days with 2 main technicians and 2 apprentices. Total of 96 hours. No permits will be pulled. No need for a leak detection. We already know what's wrong with the system.

Added 6 lbs of R22 with UV DYE to return to search where the leak is inside the refrigerant system with a black light. Other parts are worn out such as: condenser fan motor, capacitor, and the condenser coils need cleaning. Recommend a maintenance plan.

LEAK DETECTION REPORT Cut access in wall to locate pipe. Tech located Galvanized pipes going into the ground. After using leak detection equipment we have concluded that the galvanized pipe burst in the slab causing water to flow up through the ground under the bathtub. You cannot repair galvanized pipe unless you chase the pipe back to a threaded fitting to adapt back with a new threaded section of pipe. Due to this we do not recommend trenching up the ground in the entire bathroom to find a good threaded fitting to adapt back to. Since this is a cold water pipe recommend repiping the cold water system.
