Upon arrival, I found the system low by 5 pounds of R410a. I located the leak on the backside of the evaporator coil. I presented options to address this issue. The options included filling it up, filling it up with leak seal, and replacement of the evaporator and condenser. Customer opted to fill it up with leak seal. I informed the customer that there is no warranty or guarantee on repairing it this way. This unit has been refilled and TXV replaced by another company. The TXV is a 1.5T to 3T danfloss. The TXV is not giving me the correct subcooling, but I managed to get a 18 degree temperature drop. Customer is considering replacing the evaporator and condenser but is not ready at this time.
