I arrived at our clients home for a single system cooling maintenance. I began by first addressing our clients concerns from a previous visit. We had previously sold and charge the unit with refrigerant. And the client was concerned that we had not discussed a potential leak in the unit. I assured her that I would be as thorough as possible addressing the entire system. I began outside and started by testing the electrical components on the outdoor heat pump. Everything tested within range today except for the compressor start amps. They were exceeding the manufacture limit. I also found a service cap that had residual oil covering it with dirt and debris. I brought out Kya and showed this to her immediately. We discussed how the cap was not supposed to have oil residue inside it and how the other caps on the line did not appear covered like this particular one.
