Troy seems great ! Hot2cold has always been great and he keeps the tradition going
Customer had us up because the system was struggling keeping up with the set temperature. Upon investigation, Troy found that they are still running a nest thermostat that has a refresh rate of every eight minutes. Customer has an inverter type system so we need to switch out the thermostat for him and he should have a better outcome
Upon arrival I investigated unit and found system undersized. I informed customer the unit won’t reach temperature because of the size of the unit and because the time of year it’s hard to keep 70 degree temp when it’s 94 degrees outside. I changed the tsat to on position which is what Wayne told me to do. We will not install txv today. Wayne thinks it’s another issue not with the ac.
Inspected unit and found air leaking from supply. Sealed up with spray adhesive and no air was coming out of that hole anymore. After that I checked for temperatures to drop and still same issue was happening. I checked for the heat strips were turning on but they were not. Filter was very filthy. I replaced filter and still same issue. I checked temperature and I was still having same issue. I checked pressures and came across a defective txv. We will need to order new txv. Also unit is a 2 ton and the home is a 1350 sqft. So the unit is also undersized. Customer wants to go ahead and order txv. Customer was not home when I left so I was not able to get signature but customer did give me an approval to order the part. He said he can’t continue like this through out the summer.
Upon arrival customer unit was not going below 75. I checked pressures and refrigerant and it was a little low temperature dropped a bit. I told customer to let it run for a day or two if it doesn’t drop then we will have to do a further diagnostic in the morning time when it’s cooler because it’s a tight attic and very hot. No charge for customer because it’s under one year warranty. I could not get picture of filter because customer didn’t Have one.
Replaced the capacitor. Current capacitor failed.
Provided virtual estimate for customer
Customers called us out because they had a flood and the condensing unit was submerged fully. Troy advised that the best course of action would be to raise the condenser and replace it. Customers agreed. We signed off on a 2 ton Rheem to replace the one that’s there
found homeowners have no 240 in home only 110 - customers may need location to dry up due to flooding and being so close to the water. All 230/240 breakers may have been affected due to the hurricane, customer took off panel on his own, I do not recommend customers touching anything in regards to the work we are out for to avoid liability issues, due to the customer personally taking off panel I did not put it back on as I did not personally remove it.
Customer complained that his condenser was shutting off in the afternoon. Drain line was fairly loaded up. Had a bunch of gunk in it sub cooling seemed a little high, but not dramatically high so I vacuumed out the drain line. Check the gauges again it seem to come down a little. His split temperature is off by a couple of degrees but nothing major.
Fixed the drainage pipe
estimates for new duct work
Replace faulty capacitor 45/5 and maintenance complete. Unit is running normal.
