I switched the unit into a test mode at the thermostat. Repeatedly switch the unit on and off to replicate the noise that the homeowners are hearing. The unit is not cooperating and making the noise at this time. I believe the noise is a failing indoor blower motor which can intermittently do this, it begins to fail. I advise the homeowner to try to record the noise with their phone to verify the exact issue.
