I am a highly skilled home service professional, and I recently completed a job on a Thermo Pride oil furnace. The furnace was in need of annual maintenance, including replacement of the nozzle, oil filter, and pump strainer. The heat exchanger and flue pipe were thoroughly brushed and vacuumed, and furnace cement was applied around the chimney connection to ensure a tight seal. Additional screws were installed in the flue piping to improve stability and safety. All burner components and system safeties were tested and confirmed to be operating properly. During the inspection, we found the combustion chamber to be deteriorated and in poor condition. Replacement of the chamber is strongly recommended as soon as possible to maintain safe and efficient operation; an estimate for this work will be provided.
