Scott E. Job Checkin

We found the tub/shower valve was leaking due to a worn internal cartridge and related components. Replacement of the Delta cartridge along with new seats and springs was recommended to stop the leak and restore reliable operation. The water was shut off to the home, the system was drained, and the existing cartridge was removed. During removal, it was determined the valve was a Delta 1600 series rather than a 1300/1400 series, and the price was adjusted accordingly. Inspection showed the seats and springs were not level due to the valve body being slightly twisted from a previous repair, a known issue with this valve design. While there were no active leaks from the valve body, this condition was explained to the homeowner as it can cause minor flow restriction. New seats, springs, and cartridge were installed using appropriate lubricant after thoroughly cleaning all mating surfaces. Water was restored and the valve was tested for proper operation. No leaks were present at this time
