Customer had a softener that is almost 20 years old. It is not treating the water at this time, has not been serviced in approximately 5 years, and has not used salt in 6 months. I took pre and post field tests along with a water sample on the raw side for a more comprehensive analysis. Raw field tests: PH:6.5 H:13 FE:0 smell:No color:No Treated field test: PH:6.5 H:13 FE:0 Smell:No color:No I gave an estimate to replace water softer to resolve hardness issue and will verify with water sample analyst that no other treatment is necessary to resolve staining issues.
