Customer had lost water at the kitchen in their rental. Pipes were frozen. After locating the frozen pipes I turned the water on and used my heat gun to send heat to frozen sections of pipe. The cold side gave way first with the hot dripping. I ran hot water at the lav faucet to get hot water into the pipes. I then continued with the heat gun until it gave way as well. I then used my camera to check for leaks and opened and closed the apartment shutoff to test for leaks. I did not see any signs of a broken pipe. The basement door was not latching allowing a draft. I reamed out the latch hole in order to allow the door to close and as a courtesy I used some nails and hung up a drop cloth over the door to stop the draft. I was unable to fit into the space to put insulation on the pipe.
