Arrived on site to inspect Rinnai heater making a squealing sound. After our initial inspection and running the unit for 20minutes we could not recreate the squealing sound. We suspect it could be the exhaust fan motor but without it happening there’s no way to tell confidently. We instead offered to do a tune up on the Rinnai since it has not been done before. We took the unit apart and checked the igniter electrodes and flame sensors. Igniter electrodes had some combustion particles on it but we cleaned them off and they look okay. Heat exchanger also looked good. We hand spun the blower wheels and they spun freely with no noise. We then cleaned the filters and reassembled the unit. We then test fired the unit to check CO levels in the exhaust and for any leaks inside. CO levels were good and no leaks present inside. Informed Azeem that if the sound returns to take a video of it so we can see/hear it happen. Thank you for your business!
