The customer reported that after installing an Ecobee thermostat in the living room, it was not communicating with the boiler. Upon inspection at the relay control, I confirmed that the thermostat was sending a signal to the relay; however, the relay had a broken wire, preventing the circulator from engaging. Each heating zone currently operates on its own older relay. I recommended replacing the individual outdated relays with a single modern multi-zone relay panel capable of handling all four zones. The customer approved the installation of a new SR504 relay panel, as well as a Fast-Stat system to support the installation of an Ecobee thermostat for the upstairs zone. We will return to complete the installation. The zone that is currently not operating is located in a room where the customer uses a wood stove, which is providing temporary heat.
