Arrived onsite to diagnose a no-heat condition on a Viessmann propane boiler. We have been onsite multiple times for recurring failures, as the boiler continues to shut down. Upon arrival, I attempted to reset the boiler, but it would not ignite. During inspection, I found the heat exchanger to be partially plugged. I contacted Viessmann technical support, and we reviewed multiple system specifications and operating conditions. Based on troubleshooting, technical support indicated the issue may be related to a control board, which would be a costly repair ( thousands of dollars). Due to the age of the boiler, its overall condition, and the recurring nature of the failures, I advised the customer that boiler replacement would be the most cost-effective and reliable option rather than proceeding with extensive repairs. An estimate to replace the boiler was provided, and the customer stated they would review it and let us know how they would like to proceed.
