Arrived onsite to investigate reported “mold” on an HRV vent and to install a customer-supplied WiFi thermostat. Upon inspection, the substance on the HRV vent was determined to be algae, not mold. The vent will need to be cleaned with a degreaser once outdoor temperatures warm up. Installed a Nest WiFi thermostat in the living room and repaired two splices in the thermostat wiring. Verified proper operation; the system is functioning correctly at this time. Emailed estimates to replace the indirect water heater. The customer is also interested in a consultation regarding using the HRV for whole-house ventilation and replacing their boiler. We will follow up to schedule.
