Arrived on site to investigate a no–hot water issue on a Rheem natural-draft propane water heater, installed by us in December 2025. Upon inspection, we found the combustion air safety had tripped and the burner and burner orifice were sooted. We contacted technical support, who had us verify the manifold gas pressure, which was within manufacturer specifications. This water heater is common-vented into the chimney with a propane boiler. Based on their findings, technical support recommended reworking the venting. They are sending a replacement combustion air safety directly to the customer. We will verify local venting codes and make any necessary vent modifications once confirmed.
