Replace receptacle and stacker switch in bathroom with new GFCI and switch. Terminate aluminum wire with Alummiconns. Install customer supplied ceiling fan. Called out today to troubleshoot a bathroom switch and ceiling fans light that was not working. Upon inspecting the wiring I discovered it to be aluminum. Customer was aware of aluminum wiring throughout home and the dangers it present. The panel is a GE installed in the mid 90s. I saw signs of corrosion on the busbar and brought this to the customers attention, as well as the age and quality of these panels being a concern. I discussed replacing the panel and doing an aluminum remediation of all affected devices throughout the home. Due to the scope of work, a senior technician will need to come out to give accurate solutions. While inspecting the ceiling fan light, I discovered a wire had been pinched and damaged, causing the light kit to not work.
