Job Checkin

Arrived at our clients home to inspect the newly installed equipment. The builder added a 3 ton outdoor condenser and a 2.5 ton indoor evaporator coil with a 3 ton furnace. The unit is installed properly with a single 16” return duct and they added the new unit to supply air to all 4 bedrooms and the 3 full bathrooms of the home. I took a video of the duct work in the attic and showed this to Larry. What I found is that the new unit has adequate return air but it is not connected into any of the corresponding bedrooms, this single return is only returning air from the hallway and not from the master area at all. Is is also missing surrounding attic insulation around the return box. The existing bedroom returns are still connected to the larger 5 Ton Unit. I explained to Larry that even though the return air is enough for the size of the equipment it presents a “comfort” problem with uneven distribution and overall cycle of air. I also found the new attic unit to be without a water shut
