I performed a single heating maintenance on a 2017 heat pump system. I checked amps, capacitor, cleanliness, electrical, safeties, and connections. I thoroughly examined the indoor unit. I noticed that the evaporator coil is oxidized causing efficiency to be reduced. I proceeded outside and went to disengage the disconnected and determined that the copper blades were welded. This means the service disconnect has failed and is inoperable. The 70/7.5 capacitor was reading low on the compressor side 66/70. The unit currently does not have surge protection. Customer approved replacement of the disconnect and 70/7.5 warranty capacitor during time of service.
