I performed a single system cooling maintenance on a 2012 heat pump system. I checked amps, capacitors, filter, electrical, cleanliness, drains, and safeties. During my thorough evaluation, I discovered that the emergency drain pan is compromised in multiple ways. There are screws in the low points of the pan causes a leak point. Also, the pan has rust on the bottom side meaning that it is at risk of leaking. The outdoor capacitor is right at the cusp of being out of specified range. This can lead to added stress on all of the electrical outside. The indoor unit is full of growth. It is advised that this growth be removed/treated for the health of the system and occupants. Customer declined at the time of service.
