Arrived on site, found upstairs outdoor unit in hard lockout. Reset power and compressor and both motors fired on without issue. Check temperature split and was measuring only about 10°. Checked refrigerant pressures and found them to be low. Proceeded to the indoor evaporator coil and leak tested electronically. I then found a leak in the back loops of the evaporator coil video included. Shut off unit at the breaker to prevent damage to the compressor. Advised homeowner that they were covered under parts and labor warranty. The only thing they would be on the hook for is the filter dryer and any refrigerant we would need to put in the system. I had to quote the full amount of refrigerant that the unit holds in case the refrigerant does all leak out. However, at this point the leak does not appear to be large and the system has a decent amount of refrigerant so I do not think we will need the full amount.
