Upon arrival homeowner met me outside and showed me where the attic space was. I proceeded to the attic where I opened the unit and started running diagnostics on the furnace. As I was testing the heat cycle I noticed the igniter would glow and then the gas valve would open and then shut immediately. I also noticed the unit had no sediment trap for the gas line leading into the valve. I determined that ,after a couple of other tests, the gas valve was faulty. I presented my findings to the client. Client has elected to replace the gas valve and add the sediment trap to the line. Unit is currently not heating.
