Demand call for heat pump system from 2013 turning on and off. Upon arrival customer showed me the thermostat, attic access, and unit outside. We turned the system on at the thermostat and I immediately noticed the system turned on and off. I turn the fan on only and it ran just fine. I started isolating components to see if anything was causing it to turn off but every time I took a component off the system still did the same thing. However when I removed the outdoor unit from the circuit and turned the system on in ac mode the air handler in the attic did turn on and off it stayed on. This led me to believe something outside was causing the problem but when I was testing all components outside everything was testing good. I got on the phone with tech support and they had me test a couple things and after that they still couldn’t identify the problem.
