Arrived onsite to perform an annual tune-up on a Laars propane boiler. The boiler is approximately 15 years old and currently operating properly. I recommended sourcing parts prior to performing the annual tune-up. I contacted multiple supply houses, and none had the required parts in stock; they also advised that Laars no longer supports this boiler, so the parts could not be ordered. We also observed that both expansion tanks need to be replaced and recommended replacing the relief valve at the same time. I advised replacing the boiler; however, the customer would like to attempt sourcing the parts themselves. Additionally, we found that the pressure switch tubing had deteriorated and was leaking exhaust gases into the boiler cabinet. With customer approval, we replaced the tubing.
