The customer expressed interest in having an annual service performed on their Buderus oil boiler and provided approval to proceed. I completed a full annual maintenance, which included replacing the nozzle, filter, and strainer, as well as brushing and vacuuming the boiler. The boiler was found to be very dirty. With the customer’s approval, I also replaced the smoke pipe, which was rusted and deteriorated, and installed a draft regulator. I inspected the system safeties and verified the boiler’s high limit operation; all components were functioning properly. During the inspection, I found the relief valve dripping due to a failed expansion tank. With customer approval, I replaced both the expansion tank and the relief valve, and routed the relief valve drip leg to the side of the boiler so the customer can easily monitor it in the future. After completing the repairs, I checked the system for leaks and verified that all heating zones were operating correctly. The system is function
