Arrived onsite to investigate insufficient hot water on a Ruud hybrid water heater. The customer reported that the hot water temperature is adequate, but they frequently run out of hot water. During our thorough evaluation, we found several fault codes related to the heat pump portion of the water heater. We contacted technical support and diagnosed a faulty thermistor. Ruud will ship the replacement thermistor to the customer’s address once it is off backorder. We also provided estimates to install a mixing valve, vacuum breaker, and expansion tank, as well as to perform an annual tune-up. We locked the water heater in electric mode.
