Due to the home having no water, an additional hour was spent attempting to thaw frozen pipes at the pressure tank. At the time of service, water had been restored up to the pressure tank; however, the main water lines supplying the home remained frozen and required continued thawing to restore full water service. Upon partial water restoration, it was discovered that the pressure tank bladder had failed, causing the system to short cycle and the pump to turn on and off rapidly. Based on this finding, estimates for pressure tank replacement were to be emailed to the customer. To prevent further strain on the well pump, the water softener was placed into bypass and unplugged so that a regeneration cycle would not occur while the pump was short cycling.
