Upon arrival, we responded to a reported leak and conducted a thorough inspection of the surrounding bathroom fixtures, confirming that no fixtures in the area were actively leaking. During further investigation, we observed that the water softener discharge line was routed into a pit, where water was present on the floor and the surrounding area was wet. The homeowner advised that the water softener had not been in use until recently, which coincided with the appearance of the moisture. To stop the issue and prevent further discharge, the water softener was unplugged and placed into bypass mode. After completing these steps, the area was monitored and no additional water discharge was observed. The customer was satisfied with the results and agreed that the water softener was the likely source of the problem.
