Job Checkin

Arrived on site for a report of a mini split system not heating. Upon arrival, the system was operating but blowing room-temperature air. During testing, an FY error code (indicating low refrigerant) appeared on the indoor unit. Inspected the flare connections at both the indoor and outdoor units and found no visible signs of oil residue or leakage at those points. It was noted that the outdoor unit was recently struck by falling snow from the roof. Based on system behavior and site conditions, it is likely the impact caused damage to the outdoor coil, resulting in refrigerant loss. Steve will review options for either repairing or replacing the system. Estimates will be provided for both repair and replacement so an informed decision can be made.
