The existing primary bathroom toilet is outdated and showing signs of wear that affect performance and reliability. We proposed replacing it with a new Kohler Highline Comfort Height elongated toilet to improve comfort, efficiency, and dependable operation. We shut off the water supply to the toilet, drained the tank and bowl, unbolted the toilet, and removed and disposed of the unit. After removal, we thoroughly cleaned all surfaces and inspected the toilet flange, which was found to be in good condition. We replaced the flange screws and installed a spacer to raise the flange to floor level. The existing emergency shutoff valve was proactively replaced due to its age and potential risk of failure. We recommended installing a new shutoff valve to improve reliability and ensure the water supply can be safely and quickly shut off if needed.
