Job Checkin

This job included cutting in a new tee on the existing 3-inch main stack to allow for proper access and testing of the drainage and vent system. A smoke test was performed to help locate the source of an intermittent sewer odor the customer had been experiencing. During testing, no active leaks were found in the sewer or vent system. However, a loose plug was discovered in the 3-inch stack and was tightened at that time. We also identified an exposed, uncapped 2-inch pipe that had been filled with concrete; this pipe was properly capped to eliminate any potential odor source. Despite these corrections, no leaks were detected during the smoke test. We recommended that the customer have the exterior sewer line inspected, as a small underground crack could still be a possible cause of the odor. Upon further drain inspection, we found that a 1/2 copper 90 fitting serving the upstairs toilet stop was leaking. Due to the circumstances, this fitting was replaced at no charge. All findings wer
