Performed annual maintenance on Buderus oil-fired boiler. Replaced burner nozzle, oil filter, and strainer. Cleaned heat exchanger and flue pipe by brushing and vacuuming. Tested and verified proper operation of all burner components, safety controls, and hydronic system components. Performed combustion analysis, smoke test, and draft test. Resealed flue pipe connection at the chimney using furnace cement. System is operating properly at this time. During inspection, a heavily corroded Hy-Vent air elimination device was observed on the indirect water heater. The ST-5 expansion tank serving the indirect water heater was found to have failed and is waterlogged. Authorization to perform these repairs was not provided at the time of service. Estimates for replacement of these items will be provided separately.
