12/1 We found that the existing electric water heater had failed and was no longer supplying reliable hot water. We recommended replacing it with a new 65-gallon hybrid water heater to restore dependable performance and improve the home’s overall energy efficiency. Upon arrival, we shut off the home’s water supply and drained the existing water heater before removing it. We reset the concrete blocks to create a level base, then set and leveled the new 65-gallon hybrid unit using shims. We installed a new mixing valve, vacuum breaker, and hot and cold shutoff valves. The electrical connection was tied into the existing circuit, upgrading the cover sleeve to liquid-tight conduit to ensure a code-compliant waterproof seal. Both hot and cold lines were connected to the existing 3/4” copper piping, and the failed gate valve was removed. The water was turned back on and the unit was filled; once full, power was restored and the system was confirmed to be heating properly. A new condensate
